An Apple Inc. Product Launch With No Drumroll?

The Apple Inc. postponed the announcement SmartTV. One of them was the lack of product demand on the household front and how iPads and Tablets were far more popular than television sets today after all, users are much more interested in how to send a fax from iphone than television. So, it seems rather odd that today’s launch of the iPad mini with Retina display was sort of lost in the background amid other Apple headlines.

Now, we know that can’t be right and suspect this new iPad will blow the roof off our heads. So, let’s take a look at what it has to offer and why exactly the drumrolls have gone quiet this time.

A press release, but no press

When we look at the history of Apple Inc.'s product launches, there’s a very obvious pattern to follow. First, the press release hits all related media, announcing the product with all its new gadgets and the official sale date. The media then goes nuts over who gets more coverage on the new marvel, and blogs and forums explode with comments and anticipation. Then customers camp outside the Apple store or other retail stores, just to make sure they get a hand on the first stock of the product shipment. But this time silence. Apple put out a press release with the necessary information, but the marketing wheels stood very still all week.

Trying to slow down demand

Now, in our piece on the Apple Inc. Smart TV, we stated that the tech giant didn’t have enough demand to put out new TVs, so it was waiting until the winds shifted in that area. However, this is the entirely opposite case when it comes to the new iPad mini with a Retina display. In fact, techies and Apple fanatics have been awaiting this new product ever since the iPad mini came out, which they claim is the "real iPad.” Evidently, Apple picked up on product expectations, but they might not have enough supply to cover demand at the moment. So the question for me remains, why not? Shouldn’t Apple be prepared for the madness that erupts every time a new product appears? And with the SmartTV launch stalled won’t it lose money this way?

The reality of it all

Suspicions and complaints aside, the fact of the matter is that Apple Inc. iPad mini with Retina display is available to order through the Apple Online Store or you can obtain it at retail stores through AT&T Inc., Sprint Corporation, T-Mobile US Inc., or Verizon Communications Inc. Also, the new iPad will feature the same amount of pixels as its predecessor, but compacted into a 7.9-inch screen. After all, the lack of fireworks could also be an indication of Apple wanting to change things up in the marketing department.
